How to brew using a Ceramic Dripper
-
- Setup
- Take a #2 filter and fold it along its seam.
- Place it into the brewer and wet it with some fresh water. This gets rid of any papery taste from the filter.
- Grind
- Measure 2 tablespoons of medium ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. The grind size should look similar to raw or granulated sugar.
- We’ll be using 4 tablespoons of coffee and 12oz of water.
- Bloom
- Add grounds to the brew chamber then pour 2oz of freshly boiled water (-/+200° F) into the brew chamber and wait 40 seconds.
- This is called the bloom – as the grounds soak up water they release co2 and get ready for extraction.
- Brew
- Slowly pour the remaining water into the brew chamber in concentric circles. This ensures that all the grounds extract evenly.
- Enjoy
- After the water finishes flowing through the device your brew is done.
- Once the brewed coffee starts to slowly drip out the bottom, remove the brewer.
- Finally, pour your freshly brewed pourover coffee and enjoy!
