Origin: Kaanapali, Maui

Variety: Red Catuai. Developed in 1949 by crossing a Red Caturra and the Mundo Novo varieties.  Red Catuai began commercial production in Brazil in 1972. Red Catuai grows well in lower elevations, especially good for mechanical harvesting.

Taste Profile: Good body, mild acidity, hints of toasted Brazilian nut and allspice.  Well balanced.
